In addition to using dust-resistant materials and mechanisms that prevent generation of dust within the camera body, anti-static treatment also prevents dust from adhering to the sensor. And if any stray dust should adhere, Canon has developed a self-cleaning sensor unit that produces ultrasonic vibrations to remove dust from the filter protecting the CMOS sensor.
