This is a basic guide for those of you who want to buy your first camera. Do not borrow money or take a loan out for a camera if you do not have any intention of becoming a professional. Buy ONLY what you can afford. 2. Have a budget and stick to to. 3. Not this passenger, who set up his Canon 5D Mark II digital SLR camera on a tripod and attached a timelapse controller. When he pointed his 16mm-to-35mm lens out his airplane window, the result was this remarkable timelapse video of his 11-hour flight. Taking that Great Circle route above the polar regions, the video flies us through the aurora borealis, giving us a look at those spectacular northern lights. Also remarkable is the fact that the Air France flight crew allowed the use of that bundle of electronic devices throughout the entire flight. At the end of this video, you'll see the rig with which he snapped the 2459 shots -- one approximately every two miles. After the flight, they were edited together along with a few judiciously placed iPhone pics shot along the way. twitter.com

Cleaning the CCD sensor of a Panasonic Lumix Compact Digital Camera

Cleaning the CCD sensor of a Panasonic Lumix Compact Digital Camera Video Clips. Duration : 13.35 Mins.

Please read the entire description before attempting this process! Dust, hairs and pollen can easily get "sucked" into the lens as the camera initialises and the barrel extends. They manifest themselves as out of focus dark areas on the image and they do not change size or position as you zoom the camera lens. In most instances any "sensor" specks of dirt actually occur from the dust settling on infra red filter which is before the CCD itself. To clean the IR filter and the CCD the camera back and inside plates have to be removed before you can gain access. This video shows you how to perform this operation, clean the IR and CCD and then re-assemble the camera. Using a dust blower will generally remove the dust specs, however if the camera has been used in dust enviroments or in high air pollution such as cities then there is also a possibility of a "film" of contamination also on the surface of the IR filter. Using my technique of the cotton bud removes the film thus restoring any lack of contrast due to this film. If you IR filter comes out of the holder on re-installation put the IR filter into the small recess in the lens housing, then the small rubber boot with the widest part uppermost on the IR filter and then gently place the CCD block back on top of the boot and proceed to tighten it down as per video. I make the statement that although this is a simple task, you undertake this at your own risk and I can accept no responsibility if you "brick" your camera by ...

Polaroid SX-70 Orientation Film in HD (1972) - Polaroid Photography - Original Advertisement - PBS

Polaroid SX-70 Orientation Film in HD (1972) - Polaroid Photography - Original Advertisement - PBS Video Clips. Duration : 11.55 Mins.

This is an original presentation of the Polaroid SX-70 camera, which includes the original film & sound. . . . . . . . . Polaroid was founded in 1937 by Edwin H. Land, an American scientist, inventor and entrepreneur. Polaroid gained commercial success with the introduction of the first practical system of in-camera instant photography on February 21, 1947. Called the Land Camera, Polaroid originally manufactured sixty units, fifty-seven of which were put up for sale at Boston's Jordan Marsh department store for Christmas 1948. Polaroid marketers incorrectly guessed that the camera and film would remain in stock long enough to manufacture a second run based on customer demand. All fifty-seven cameras and associated fim were sold out within the first day. Edwin Land considered his leadership towards the development of integral instant color photography - the SX-70 film and camera - to be his crowning achievement. The SX-70 was a sales success and was embraced by photographers such as Ansel Adams. . . . . . . . . SX-70 DESIGN FEATURES The SX-70 included many sophisticated design elements. A collapsible SLR required a complex light path, with many mirrors (including one Fresnel reflector) of unusual, aspheric shapes and at odd angles. Many mechanical parts were precision plastic moldings. The body was glass-filled polysulfone, a very rigid plastic which could be plated with genuine copper-nickel-chromium. This plating looks and feels so much like solid metal that some users ...

Please visit the following forum thread where you will find further discussion (Q&A) and sample photos taken with this lens on a Canon EOS 5D Mark II: www.motleypixel.com Minolta MD Rokkor-X 50mm f/1.4 conversion to Canon EOS I'm pretty sure this is the most detailed-documented procedure on how to convert a Minolta MD lens to Canon EOS. It is of my opinion that the best Minolta SR mount 50mm primes were the MD Rokkor-X 50/1.2 and 50/1.4. By this time in Minolta's manual SLR lens development they had figured out the best coatings, saved some weight and size, and engineered their best aperture diaphragm (hence MD for Minimum Diaphragm). This lens is Minolta's second gen. MD lens. The last and 3rd generation were perhaps just a good optically, but they builds were of more plastic.

5200mm Canon Lens World's MOST powerful Super telephoto EF FD (updated upload)

5200mm Canon Lens World's MOST powerful Super telephoto EF FD (updated upload) Tube. Duration : 2.00 Mins.

READ!! Canon 5200mm F14 Prime Lens. The world's largest dedicated SLR Super Telephoto lens. Extremely rare. Made in Japan. Most probably a government ordered cold war spy tool - it certainly wasn't designed to just look at the stars with the use of it's ND filters... It uses a mirror & lens combination. The front lens is massive. Rear drop-in filters can be used. •Focal Length: 5150mm •Exposure Control: Light quantity is controlled with the use of built-in ND filters, corresponding to f/14, f/16, f/22, f/32 •Minimum Object Distance: 120 meters (Approx 393 feet!) •Size: 500mm(wide) x 600mm(high) x 1890mm(deep) [20x24x75.6] •Weight: 100kg (220 lbs) without stand. From a Canon Flyer: "This is the only ultra-telephoto lens in the world capable of taking photographs of objects 18 to 32 miles away (30km to 52kms away). Having a focal length of 5200mm, Canon Mirror Lens 5200mm can obtain one hundred times as large an object image as that of a 50mm lens." "For focusing this mounted or fixed lens on an extremely distant object, two aiming telescopes are set on the side of the lens barrel, and the entire lens is placed on a rigid stand which rotates smoothly. Minimizing the overall length had been a big problem in designing this lens. However, the Catadioptric system that is applied to the other two Canon mirror lenses (Canon 800mm f3.8 & 2000mm f11) has succeeded in reducing it down to one third of the nominal focal length. Photography & Video: What Cameras I Use Video Clips. Duration : 4.63 Mins.

"What camera do you use?" is a question I get often enough to film a response! For example: a shallow depth of field might show the figure in the foreground in focus while the background was blurred. It gives a cinematic look to the video and makes it look very professional. Some of the newer digital SLR cameras (the ones that also film video) can achieve this. I had purchased one for that purpose about a year ago but ended up returning it and here's why: While these newer cameras CAN film video, they aren't video cameras. It was problematic at best and not a good option for me. Many people find these cameras work well for their purpose -- it's a matter of personal preference and considering how you're filming. The depth of field adapter that I use for the JVC camera is one that I purchased from EnCinema: www.vid-atlantic.com Other notes: The video editing program I use is Corel's VideoStudio. I started using it because it was one of the few programs I had tested (by downloading demos) that worked well on my computer and didn't crash very often (video editors can be a little fussy even ...
